This article introduces the recent changes, new features and several other enhancements in DigiTerra Explorer 7. It also provides links to resources for more help and learning.

GNSS technology related enhancements

  • + Support for GALILEO, BEIDOU and QZSS navigation satellite systems

Data export and file format related enhancements

  • + Embedded images can be exported into KML, KMZ file formats and displays in e.g. Google Earth |      
  • + Batch export available on the Layers dialog box for vector layers, tabulated and text file formats |      
  • + Rules and expressions can be stored in the DMP file |      
  • + Improvement in the CSV export function: the CSV is the default file format on the Datatable export dialog box |      
  • + The CSV export does not add the Project PATH and the 'Attach file' button label strings to the Document(N) type fields |      
  • + When adding two DXF layers with the same layer structure to the current project the Open single DXF dialog box does not appear
  • + CDT Code Dictionary file automatically created next to the project file when not using the global code dictionary. The file name will be the project name: e.g. when using Project01 as project name the CDT file inherits the same name.
  • + YYYYMMDD, YY/MM/DD, MM/DD/YY and DD/MM/YY date formats are supported in DBF
  • + Z coordiates stored with 3 decimals when using the Store 3D-coordinate option at vector layer creation or by enabling this option on the Layers panel > Source dialog box

Graphical User Interface and usability related enhancements

  • + The redesigned Startup options panel incredibly simplifies the workflows of the Project creation and Project Template usage. Formerly known New map or New project options dialog box. |      
  • + Project name displays instead of the Application Name in the mobile version when opening a Project |      
  • + Recent Projects submenu added to the File menu in the Desktop version that stores the recently opened three Projects |      
  • + The Value Column on the Record dialog box greyed when the data table is empty. Available in the Desktop version yet. |      
  • + The Select language dialog box increased
  • + The Selection Symbol size increased. The symbol that to show which record is selected on the map was a little small and hard to distinguished. |

  • + The attribute data capture now works properly when disconnection from the GNSS receiver in case of using GNSS attribute field default values
  • + The first item has been selected without user intervention when opened a DMP project
  • + Both: Interleaved (RGBRGB) and Per Channel (RRGGBB) Pixel Odering method supported in TIFF file format
  • + New Portuguese projections are supported

  • + The licensing is working properly on Windows tablets (there was some special case when the device was not identified)
  • + The symbols in the Symbol selection dialog became greyed when changing the project files quickly in the desktop version
  • + The mobile version minimized to the taskbar after taking a picture with the built-in camera on Trimble Juno T41 and Spectra MobileMapper 120
  • + Static navigation is available again on Mio P560
  • + Mapping project saving enhancement for the mobile version when storing the project in SQLite (DB3) geodatabase format
  • + SQLite 3 related memory leaks has been fixed

  • + CLS file with the same name as the vector feature layer now can be used as Thematic Class Template when adding the layer to the mapping project
  • + The OK button is now marked as default on the Data Capture Form (Form view) to quickly close the panel with [ENTER] or with a key from the hardware's keyboard
  • + Map Template function on the New Map Options dialog box now uses the Target folder to quickly save the new project into a previously selected folder
